Septorhinoplasty in Istanbul

You don't have to choose between a nose that works well and a nose that looks good. Septorhinoplasty combines both in a single, precise procedure.

Septorhinoplasty — before and after
Overview

What Exactly is Septorhinoplasty?

Do you wake up with a dry mouth because you've been breathing through it all night? Do you feel like one side of your nose is constantly blocked? Or perhaps you are unhappy with the bump on your nasal bridge, but you're worried that cosmetic surgery might compromise your breathing?

Septoplasty

Functional surgery to straighten a deviated septum — the internal wall separating the nasal passages.

Rhinoplasty

Aesthetic surgery to reshape the external appearance — bridge, tip, nostrils, and overall profile.

If you only fix the outside without addressing a crooked septum, your breathing could actually get worse. Conversely, if you only fix the inside, you miss the opportunity to straighten a crooked nose. Septorhinoplasty does both at once.

Indications

Signs You Might Need a Septorhinoplasty

  • Chronic Nasal Congestion
  • Difficulty Sleeping (snoring, sleep apnea)
  • Nosebleeds
  • Facial Pain or Headaches
  • Visible Asymmetry (C or S-shaped nose)

The Procedure

Science Meets Artistry

01

Structural Repair (Septoplasty)

Through an open approach, the deviated parts of cartilage and bone are carefully removed or reshaped. Bonus: the removed cartilage is often recycled as grafts for the aesthetic phase.

02

Aesthetic Refinement (Piezo Rhinoplasty)

Unlike hammers and chisels, Piezo ultrasonic rhinoplasty uses high-speed sound waves to sculpt bone with precision — cutting bone without damaging soft tissue. Result: significantly less bruising and swelling.

03

Turbinate Reduction

Radiofrequency ablation to shrink enlarged turbinates, widening the airway for high-definition breathing. This step restores full nasal function alongside the aesthetic refinement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can thick skin be thinned surgically?
To a degree, yes. We can remove some subcutaneous fat/fibro-fatty tissue. The actual dermis cannot be thinned too aggressively without risk of skin necrosis.
How long is the recovery for Septorhinoplasty?
The splint is worn for 7–10 days. Most patients return to social activities by week 2. Full recovery and final results take 12 months.
Will the incision scar be visible?
The external incision is placed on the columella (the narrow bridge between the nostrils). With proper healing it becomes almost invisible within 6–12 months.
Does insurance cover Septorhinoplasty?
The functional (septoplasty) component may be covered by your home country's insurance. We can provide detailed medical documentation to support your claim.
